Salary is the remuneration for an employee’s work provided by public institutions, namely if the employer is the government, local government unit, the state fund or eg. educational organization founded by the Ministry of Education. Salary is determined by tariff  according to Labour Code. The respective tariffs consist of the certain salary class standard (depending on the nature of the work performed), and "salary step" (depending on the length formal practice). Following the career system typical for state administration; in this system, the more senior the employee is, the higher the salary. 

In certain cases, the employee may receive bonuses; bonus for night work amounts to 20% of average hourly earnings, bonus for work on Saturdays and Sundays is 25% of average hourly earnings, bonus for split shift is 30% of average hourly earnings. The law also sets out premium for a certain degree of management or for working overtime.
